The Arlington Chamber of Commerce is seeking individuals and teams of enthusiastic volunteers to participate in Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day, an annual tradition that engages businesses and individuals in rewarding half-day service projects throughout the community. Produced by the Chamber's Community Action Committee, Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day connects Arlington businesses to Chamber member nonprofits. Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals and groups of all sizes!
Volunteer Registrations
Once project sites become available, to register for a volunteer site, review the available projects, then click the blue "register" button in the top right corner of this webpage. From there, please select the site of your choice. All projects are from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Registration is currently for members of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce only.

Volunteer Projects
Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC) 8 Volunteers Max | Hunter's Park, 2021 N Nelson St, Arlington VA 22207
Hunter's Park is an affordable housing apartment building for active, low-income senior citizens. We'll host a lunch and activity (Bingo or crafts) for residents. Volunteers will serve food, visit with residents, and participate in the activity with residents.
Animal Welfare League of Arlington SOLD OUT | 2650 S Arlington Mill Dr Arlington VA 22206
Volunteers will start with a Listen & Learn about AWLA and our community support programs, including our Pet Pantry and Mobile Pet Distributions. After a tour of the shelter, volunteers will prep dog and cat food bags to be given out at one of our Mobile Pet Distributions the next day. They will be breaking down large 35lbs bags of dry food into smaller 5lbs bags to be given out. Volunteers will need to be able to lift heavy bags of food, push heavy carts, and stand for 2 hours at a time.

Volunteers will place mulch around the food trailer and in the playground area. They will also potentially stain the wooden rails leading up to the food pantry door and help organize the food pantry.
Arlington Neighborhood Village 10 Volunteers Max | meet at 4000 Lorcom Lane, Arlington, VA 22207
Volunteers will help seniors declutter by picking up unneeded and unwanted items from their homes and taking the items to Goodwill and Central Library (for book donations). Volunteers will meet at ANV's office at 1:15pm for instructions and will receive a list of ANV members who are participating, and details about the drop off locations. The project will likely take about 2 hours. We would especially welcome volunteers with pick up trucks or other larger vehicles.
Aspire! Afterschool Learning 15 Volunteers Max | 909 S Dinwiddie St, 3rd Floor, Arlington, VA 22204
Aspire is looking for volunteers who can help maintain our library by sorting through books to see what’s no longer in good condition, ensuring books are properly organized based on genre, and organizing everything neatly. We’ll provide a quick training, as well as a brief Listen & Learn about the importance of literacy, the current state of education here in Arlington and across the nation, and Aspire’s work in the community.

Volunteers will reorganize the shelter pantry and shed on the same property and auto detail the two shelter vans.
Community Residences, Inc (CRi) 15 Volunteers Max | 1612 North McKinley Road Arlington, VA 22205
CRi's North McKinley residential program is seeking volunteer help with their outdoor gardening space this Spring. Volunteers will help with fence the farming space to protect crops, lay weed barrier fabric for controlling weeds, lay gardening soil and fertilizers, plant seedlings, and other general lawn care (weeding, trimming, etc.).
Culpepper Garden 25 Volunteers Max | 4435 N. Pershing Drive, Arlington, VA 22203
Culpepper Garden is an affordable senior housing community serving older adults age 62 and older. Volunteers will assist with invasive species removal, repotting our planters, trimming back plants and shrubs, and general garden clean up.

Volunteers will be learning about domestic and sexual violence, learning about our children's services, and then putting together kits for the children in our programs.
EcoAction Arlington 20 Volunteers Max | Jennie Dean Park, 3630 27th St S, Arlington, VA 22206
Volunteers will participate in a stream and park cleanup at Jennie Dean Park in Shirlington, helping remove litter and debris from the stream corridor, nearby trails, and surrounding green spaces. Volunteers will work in small teams (2) to collect, sort, and record litter using EcoAction Arlington’s Trash Tally methodology. EcoAction Arlington staff will provide a brief orientation, all necessary supplies (gloves, bags, litter pickers, and data sheets), and guidance throughout the activity. The project is suitable for volunteers of all experience levels.

Volunteers will work together to assemble and package STEM learning supply kits for students in our programs. During the volunteer session, participants will sort and organize materials, assembe individual student supply kits, and package kits by school and program site.
Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington 10 Volunteers Max | 3550 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22205
Volunteers will help organize the art-making classrooms at the museum, ensuring these spaces remain welcoming and functional for creativity. Tasks include adding a fresh coat of paint on the classroom walls, sorting and organizing art supplies, cleaning the room and storage areas, and making sure the space is in good condition. Volunteer efforts will support artists and students by maintaining an inspiring and well-equipped environment for learning and making art.

Volunteers will give the waiting room a new look and create a collage, or Memory Wall, on one of the walls. Volunteers will paint a design using acrylic or latex paint on poster size foam and then add pictures from Pride events that we participated in. Volunteers will also create condom packs for our upcoming Pride Events and help organize our stock room.
PathForward 12 Volunteers Max | 1124 Kennebec Street N, Arlington VA
Volunteers will assist with a storage room clean-up and organization project at our 8-unit apartment building in the Westover neighborhood of Arlington. This is a hands-on cleanup project, so come ready to get a little dirty and help make the space shine again! Volunteers will need to wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes, be able to lift and move items for sorting and discarding, and be prepared to use cleaning products and supplies. PathForward will provide cleaning supplies, gloves, and masks for all volunteers.

The volunteers will be organizing and counting our Gala materials as well as cleaning our therapy offices.

Volunteers will be assisting staff in sorting, inventorying, and organizing event/programming supplies in storage closet. This will enable the Resident Services Team to be ready to hit the ground running ahead of a busy summer season that includes STEM Camps, Summer Camps, Summer Block Parties, and Field Trips.
