If you are looking for a great place to hang out with your girlfriends or guyfriends, or have a great brunch date, Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen should be on your list.

There is a great vibe in this place. it has a very open air concept. The food is good and affordable. You can't go wrong with things like shrimp and grits, the traditional breakfast, chicken and waffles, and some great beverages to accompany your meals.

One thing I would strongly recommend you try... if you are carb conscious, are the biscuits. A percentage of the sale of biscuits are donated. "Biscuits for a Cause"...What a great concept!

The wait staff is also friendly. I have been to the Raleigh, NC location of Tupelo Honey, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't tell I was in the DMV (Arlington). That same southern hospitality came through.

      Happy eating!

Be sure to try the biscuits. "Biscuits for a Cause." The jam is AMAZING!

Hello! I am writing to you from D.C. the family and I went to this restaurant that we found on Yelp with good reviews.. beautiful Ambience.. outside and inside.. the service was great! Fair prices..
once inside greeted promptly.. group of 8 people all had great meals..
I on the other ordered a chicken sandwich which look nice on the outside but when I took a bite it was dry.. I mean it was obviously cooked and sat under a heating lamp... for hours..

This was not a good experience. On the plus side, we made a reservation and gotten seated immediately. That was the highlight. We went on a Sunday for a 1:15 lunch. We waited for over ten minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. I ask for tea with some sweetener and biscuits as an appetizer. The tea came with no sweetener so I nicely asked again and still never came. The biscuits were delivered but we had no silverware so we had to wait again for our server to appear which took another ten minutes. We order our lunches and from there the real wait began. It was over 50 minutes before we received our food. We had the appetizer chicken which had no flavor at all. We also got the smothered chicken with the gravy on the side, Mac and Cheese and a Caesar salad. Again, without the sauce the chicken has no flavor, the Mac and Cheese was barely warm and the salad did not come for five minutes after the food was delivered. The salad would have been good except it have way too much dressing, and I like dressing.

There was a couple sitting besides us and we start to chat and "bond" over the face that they had waited over an hour for their food and they also felt it was tasteless. Without adding salt and pepper it had no flavor. The other issue we had is that two ladies sat down about five minutes after us, had our same server and was waited on first and their food was delivered within 15 minutes, I don't know why but it was also very frustrating. Our service was not good at all, we had to watch for her to ask for a refill of our drink and had to flag her down to give us our check.

As far as ambiance, over all it is fine but the music is a bit loud when you have a packed restaurant so it makes it hard to talk.

This place has such good reviews so I am not sure what went wrong with our meal but it was bad in so many ways. I would not return.

Retirement reception and will say one of the best that I have attended, great set-up, Staff was on it with drinks (refills) and replenishment of the food line. Nice atmosphere, and the food served was absolutely delicious. I tried everything, but the fried green tomatoes, just not my thing. Everything else I tried and it was all good. Chicken & waffles, mac & cheese balls, meatballs, biscuits with Blueberry jam underneath butter (Wow). I could not stop poppin the deviled eggs in my mouth.
Definitely a Winner Winner Chicken Waffles Dinner !!!

My new favorite place for happy hour! They have $6 apps, $5 cocktails, and $11 mains until 5:30! Food was so delicious and came out quickly. We tried the brussel sprouts, fried pickles, and lots of sides. Also split the chicken & waffles which were so good.
Service was incredible and he put up with our indecisiveness.
      Will be back soon!

      1 check-in

The food was good but not great. I got biscuits to start which were good and then the traditional American breakfast. I chose eggs over medium the potatoes and bacon. The eggs were super greasy. The potatoes were actually quite salty and I'm a salt lover and typically have to add salt but these were pretty salty for me . They were nice and crispy though. My friend got the Sriracha and honey chicken and waffles. He seemed to enjoy those said his first piece of chicken was not very spicy, but the second one was.

Server was nice but very quiet and wasn't as attentive as he should have been.

It was pretty loud in the restaurant between the music and everyone talking. We didn't have to yell to communicate but it was on the louder side.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday! Definitely suggest making a reservation, it was busy and we were glad we did.

There were a few gluten free options on the menu, the server was able to answer some questions, but not all related to allergies.

Overall it was decent ambiance, and friendly service, just wish there were more gluten free options!

I've been here a few times, and I'll say it, 5 stars. I really like this place. We travel from Ashburn to come here for special occasions. This is one of those places that everything on the menu is good. I always get something with the honey dusted fried chicken. It's always good. The sides are also good.
The restaurant is always clean and the service is always prompt.

      Updated review

I went back and was pretty disappointed in it after such a great first experience. The waffles weren't on the menu anymore, the sandwich lacked flavor (I got it without the honey both times and the first it was still delicious but this time it was so bland), the biscuits seemed different as well. On the bright side, the iced sweet tea was still delicious as was the blueberry jam with the biscuits. Service was good and it's busy there for brunch but not too loud or crazy.

Okay, so decided to go here as group but that fell through, however, managed to snag a friend to try out their chicken..mmm. Firstly the decor gets a a 2 star - welcoming. The ambiance after work at 4pm a tad bit cooler than expected- no happy hour vibes although the HH starts from 3-6. The HH prices are anything but happy. Cos yea $8 for a 2 oz Sangria WITH ice, in winter- terrible! Don't go. Considering I asked for light ice.
The recommended meal was really just ok. As seen in picture chicken was dark brown!!! Where's the golden fried chicken people?? The Mac n cheese waffle was just okay... very underwhelming and sadly the star of the show was some ranch dill cream/sauce! .... I was NOT impressed!!! There are other places in Arlington where you could get better chicken. The server was nice though.

Asheville chicken on Mac n cheese waffles with dill ranch sauce. Side of hot honey sauce and cup of syrup.
