MMA and Sports Rehab

I can't say enough about Dr. Ujjwal and his team. I am recovering from Cervical spine surgery and some SI Joint dysfunction and going to MMA has made a world of difference. My strength and balance has gotten so much better. Also, the FDM ( fasia distortion model) has helped tremendously. I would highly recommend MMA and Sports Rehab for rehibilitation.

I had a very bad issue with my shoulder from a hockey injury. After a week it was still very painful and hadn't changed much. X-ray said no fracture. I went to Dr Ujjwal for an assessment before going deeper into expensive procedures at the hospital. Thankfully he diagnosed my strange issue. No tears or major damage, but apparently my muscles and tissues had kind of seized up in response to my initial trauma and they were still in defensive mode. And after some therapy and a few visits and at home rehab I was healed. So thankful for their help!

I had resigned myself to living with chronic back pain. So I searched for a physical therapist who could provide exercises to help manage it. It felt like there was no end in sight. However, after a few sessions at MMA and Sports Rehab, I met Dr. Ujjwal Shakya. Arriving in significant pain, Dr. Shakya conducted a thorough assessment, asking about my condition and pain levels. Skeptical, I mentioned it was around a 9 out of 10. His response was confident: 'We'll improve that.' Despite my doubts, he introduced a new approach that worked like magic. Instant relief was beyond belief. Now, I can confidently say there's hope. While the pain may return, we've found effective strategies to manage it, thanks to Dr. Ujjwal's expertise. He truly works miracles!

Great PT specialists who helped fix my herniated disk. It takes time but with insurance my copays are only $20, very easy to find appointments after 5 o'clock

As a nurse, I am very critical of my medical care. The care that I have received at MMA and Sports Rehab has exceeded in every area.

I have worked with Dr. Shakya, Dr. Wynn, and Jon. Their expertise and care plans are spot on for your acute problem but they also address how your body moves overall which is critical in relieving pain and maintaining function.

You get personalized attention the entire time you are there whether the PT is working on you manually or you are going through the exercises. In addition, the overall atmosphere is one of caring and everyone is so very pleasant to work with, including the scheduling team.

Great experience working with them here! My left wrist was bothering me for a while, and I decided to get it checked out. Dr. Shakya was really impressive. Within minutes of working on my wrist, I immediately felt better. He then suggested a few exercises that I can do and helped me video recorded the instruction of how to do those exercise. So when I got home, it was very easy to follow the instruction. Within 2 visits my problem is now healed. Thank you all!

Had an awesome experience with MSR. Dr. Ujjwal and his team are very professional and took the time to ask questions and physically triage my problems to know where my issues were. They all come from active sports backgrounds, giving them the ability to not only apply the science, but also use their plethora of experience to apply precise solutions to physical issues.

I came in with a neck cricky issue, which caused a persistent pain and made any movement of my neck (and even just sitting up) uncomfortable. Jon and Dr. Ujjwal were able to quickly pinpoint that the issue was really in the my trap muscles, and in a matter of a couple sessions through exercises/stretches/dry needling, provided immediate relief from the pain.

I highly recommend MSR for any person dealing with physical issues. MMA or not, athlete or not, they will provide the good care that will get you past any physical issues that come your way.

For the last two years, I had been dealing with horrible, debilitating shin pain that, at one point, made it difficult for me to walk for more than thirty consecutive minutes. I had to put my adult figure skating dreams on hold and went through four to five PT centers in my quest to get back onto the ice. The last PT I went to told me that maybe skating just wasn't in the cards for me and that I should just stop if it was hurting me. At that point, I was heartbroken but also felt like there was nothing else to do, but to accept the truth that I could never get back onto the ice again.
It was then that a friend recommended Dr. Dani, both a skater and skating coach herself. And that really, genuinely changed everything. Dr. Dani was so patient and kind throughout the entire treatment process. I really felt like she listened, and was so generous with her time both at the clinic and at the rink. At past treatment centers, I'd have times where I'd feel stuck, or like the exercises we were doing were repetitive and unchallenging. But Dr. Dani was great at progressing me properly, challenging me on my good days, and letting me take it slow when things started hurting again. Finally, I've been able to make my way back onto the ice and skate pain-free over the last couple of months. Thank you, Dr. Dani!
The rest of the MMA & Sports Rehab have also been absolutely wonderful. All the other PTs are so nice, and Jennice and Ayesha at the front desk have been endlessly helpful with my many insurance questions and booking needs. 10/10, no notes.

I went to MMA for knee pain that turned out to be tendinitis. I mostly saw Dr. Dani and she was great. She always tried to come up with ways to help me recover without stopping my activities. Some days I needed more treatment and other days I did more exercises. She was always very flexible and listened to my needs. Highly recommend her and the whole practice.
