He got me the BEST rates I have seen anywhere (and I got quotes through all the big companies and other local agencies) and not once did he try to upsell me like so many of these other places do. I don't know where to start so I'll start at the beginning. I needed a new insurer for my motorcycles and a broker friend of mine from another company highly recommended that I contact Nancy Ocampo and it was the best phone call of the year. Nancy fully took care of my needs and communicated with me via email, text and phone calls. I explained to her what I needed and she immediately worked a quote which was very reasonable and actually lower than I was paying with my previous insurer (IIRC).

Nancy was able to fully answer all of my questions and concerns which showed me that she knew the industry very well so I knew at that point I had selected the right insurer. I've recommended her to several colleagues and will continue to do so. I've been with Erie Insurance since I started driving nine years ago, and I've been with CMR for the past two years. Fortunately I haven't had to use them that often (surprising since the traffic in NOVA is horrendous), but as far as customer service in switching my insurance from PA to VA they were extremely helpful. Carlos Ruiz (not the Phillies catcher) and his staff were very helpful, and he even saved me money by alerting me to the fact that if I get automobile AND renters insurance my yearly premium will be lower than if I just got automobile insurance (so strange). He was very pleasant on the phone, answered my emails quickly, and processed my paperwork in a matter of days, walking me through the process. I now have more coverage with lower premiums!

Stay away from those large corporate companies and go with the small family-owned business instead. Hopefully after reading this they'll knock down my premiums a bit too :)

If I could give this a six I would! Carlos makes my life easier. When I moved to the DC metro area 10 years ago I was frustrated by constantly being on the phone with 800 numbers and people who didn't care about my situation and then I talked to Carlos and it made my day. Having come from a small town in PA, I finally felt like this 'big city' had a small town feel. That was 10 years ago and since then I have graduated from car and rental insurance to home owner's insurance and adding my husband! Absolutely stellar customer service.
