Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?

It's the big question at the center of the April 21 special election. Headlines, yard signs, commercials, and social media debates are everywhere. Lines have been drawn and sides have been taken, yet many Arlingtonians are still wondering what this amendment actually does and how it could impact our community.

Join Advance Arlington on April 8 for a clear, balanced conversation designed to cut through the confusion. We will walk through the redistricting referendum, learn what “temporary adoption” means, and explore how this decision could shape representation in the upcoming elections and in the years ahead.

This event provides expert speakers on topics to help you grow your business, such as digital marketing and business development, and also gives you the opportunity to make connections and grow your professional network. The forum is applicable to a variety of businesses and employee levels, from front-line customer service to owners.

This Month's Topic: Shaunee Lynch, Founder & CEO of Vitae Visual

Description

The modernization of the hiring process is transforming how organizations identify, evaluate, and attract talent. Traditional methods that relied heavily on resumes, manual screenings, and in-person interviews are no longer sufficient on their own. While digital applications and virtual interviews have become common, the initial candidate selection process has lagged behind—until now.

Here are some tools for small businesses to use to transition their hiring process to the modern way of hiring.
• Video introductions to see personality, passion, and communication skills. This usually takes place in the interview.
• Applicant tracking systems (ATS) to streamline applications. Skills and experience can be targeted to give employers a list of qualified candidates.
• Skills assessments to evaluate abilities directly. To verify work experience, this is reassuring.
• Collaborative platforms for team feedback. Several free internal platforms to use in which many a free to use.
• Automated scheduling to simplify interviews. Several scheduling platforms that will do the work for you. And yes, many require only a registration.

Using these cost-effective tools help companies save time, make smarter decisions, and attract the right talent in today’s competitive landscape.

Agenda
