On March 8, 2023 (International Women's Day), Girls on the Run of NOVA will host a traveling film festival called LUNAFEST at the Angelika Film Center in Fairfax. LUNAFEST is a series of short films by, for, and about women and gender-nonconforming individuals. The 2023 season of LUNAFEST® features seven short films with a total running time of 90 minutes. We’re proud to amplify the inspiring short films by this year’s selection of women and gender-nonconforming directors. Our featured filmmakers are from all walks of life and range from poets to conservationists, activists, and educators. These stories remind us that when we come together, we all move forward.

The event will kick off with a social hour offering light hors d'oeuvres, drinks, networking, and opportunity to enter our raffle. All proceeds raised benefit Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia. Attendees aged 21+ will receive a complimentary glass of bubbly - all the more reason to come celebrate with us! Rarely does a spring pig live to see the fall of winter. In this heartwarming tale, a young girl meets her best friend, Wilbur, a plucky spring pig, along with a new set of furry friends. Wilbur desperately wants to live to see his first snowfall. Charlotte, a kind and loving spider, transforms Wilbur from the runt of the litter to prize-winning “some pig.”

Rock Recovery invites you to join them on Saturday, March 18th at the Westin Arlington Gateway for its 10th annual Building Bridges Breaking Bread gala (5 - 9 PM). This one-of-a-kind annual gathering celebrates Rock’s incredible clients and raises critical funds to support our life-saving eating disorder therapy and support services! The evening will include a delicious three-course meal, an exciting live and silent auction, as well as powerful testimonies from Rock Recovery program graduates. This year's event will be hosted by radio personality, Claude Jennings, of WGTS 91.9.

Rock Recovery is a mental health nonprofit based in Arlington, VA that provides low-cost and accessible therapy services to those who struggle with eating disorders and community support programs to care for their loved ones. Proceeds from Building Bridges Breaking Bread will go toward Rock's clinical and community programs to help more individuals access affordable outpatient care, as well as the community support they and their loved ones need to heal.

Arlington Chamber Young Professionals Series

The Chamber is excited to provide a new opportunity for young professionals in the area with the Arlington Chamber Young Professionals Series! This series will cultivate the next generation of business leaders by bringing together Arlington young professionals to learn more about the Chamber and engage with the larger business community. Each event will focus on the Chamber’s four pillars: Community Engagement, Advocacy, Networking, and Professional Development.

The series will kick off in March with an event that will focus on Community Engagement. If you are a young professional looking for more ways to get involved in the community, this event will allow you to connect with the Chamber and learn more about our network of more than 100 nonprofit members. After a Q&A session with Chamber Staff, attendees will have an opportunity to meet staff from local nonprofit members and participate in a volunteer fair.
