Arlington County has experienced unprecedented significant growth in the past few years, as top companies have chosen Arlington as their regional or in some instances global headquarters. At the same time, the real estate market is facing serious challenges, as office and retail vacancies continue. This has brought into question the viability and future of real estate in Arlington. On Wednesday, November 15, the Government Affairs & Economic Development Committee will hear from Committee Co-Chair Scott Pedowitz and Chamber Vice Chair for Advocacy Bismah Ahmed of the Apartment Office & Building Assocation, who will provide a review of the General Assembly elections on November 7, as well as analysis for what the elections mean for the Chamber’s policy interests in Richmond.

WHINO is located between Macy's and the bridge that leads to the Ballston Metro Station on the second floor of the mall. Daily, 24-hour parking is available in the Ballston Public Parking Garage which is located at 627 N. Glebe Road. Parking level three (G3) leads to the same level WHINO is located. The parking garage is gateless -- once you park and exit your vehicle, scan the QR code located on the pillars, which will take you to the payment portal. You will need to enter your phone number, email, license plate number, and credit card number that you would like to pay with. It will ask you to estimate how long you will be parked for, with the option to extend your parking session at any time before your estimated timer runs out. Once you hit pay, you will receive a text message confirmation, with a link to extend your parking if you need to. There is also street parking along Wilson Blvd.

The venue is also accessible via Ballston-MU Metro (Orange and Silver lines).

On November 18 the Jennifer Bush-Lawson Foundation will be holding it's 9th annual 5K and Family Fun Day. In addition to a certified 5K course, we have all types of activities over the course of the morning for kids including face painting, bounce houses, rock climbing, food trucks and more. Registration is officially open for the 18th Annual Arlington Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd.

Dear Turkey Trotters,

The Arlington Turkey Trot has become one of Arlington's most beloved holiday traditions, and we are ready for another wildly successful year! Thanks to YOU and your support, the Trot has been able to donate over $1 million to local charities throughout the years. As we organize community resources, we are looking forward to another year of family fun, while addressing the charitable needs of Arlington residents.

The 5K course will begin at 8:00 am on Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd, at Pershing, between Fillmore and Garfield. ALL FITNESS LEVELS WELCOME! This is a family event, so come on out and walk, jog or run the course, it doesn't matter. What matters is you're there supporting this fantastic community event.

The race will be followed by a celebration at Lyon Park. We'll have music, an awards ceremony and a TON of Thanksgiving fun.
