LeadShare provides introductions and warm referrals to member businesses and business leaders within the Arlington community. The group meets to build relationships, share best business practices, and discuss types of clients and opportunities members are targeting.

Provided as a free member benefit of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, any member is eligible to participate in LeadShare. However, participation in the group will ultimately be limited to one vertical industry per member. The Chamber maintains a waiting list for additional interest.

The Richmond Highway (US-1) overpass cuts much of National Landing in half, creating a physical and psychological barrier between Crystal City and Pentagon City. Plans to lower it to grade and transform it into an urban boulevard have highlighted goals for National Landing’s transformation. The Virginia Department of Transportation has circulated options for how to design the new roadway and to integrate it into the community, and is receiving feedback on them. On Wednesday, July 7 from 9:00-10:00 a.m., representatives from VDOT and the National Landing BID will join the Chamber’s Government Affairs and Economic Development Committee to discuss the outlook for improving Route 1, and to hear members’ questions and feedback.

Parking
The Chamber office is located 0.2 mile from the Courthouse Metro station (Orange & Silver lines). Two hour metered street parking is available in front of the Chamber office. There is also two hour metered parking in the ground lot at 14th Street & Courthouse Road, across from the Arlington Courthouse. An underground parking lot is available at 14th Street & Taft Street with rates of $4 (1 hour), $6 (2 hours), and $8 (until closing).

Join the Arlington Chamber of Commerce for our Nonprofit Forum: Understanding Your Nonprofit Organization's Financial Health on Tuesday, July 20, from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on the Zoom platform, presented by the Chamber’s Community Action Committee.

We are pleased to welcome Andy Powell, Partner at Sikich LLP, to dive deep into the details of financial statements, such as statements of financial position, activities, and cash flows. This forum will be focused on helping nonprofit Board of Directors members understand and place value in these financial reports. Andy will present a holistic view of understanding financial health and its importance in business planning. We will also have time for Q&A.

Following the presentation, we will encourage attendees to utilize breakout sessions to discuss goals for their organizations and how to implement them based on the presentation. This forum is open to nonprofits and businesses.

Arlington County is 2 ½ years into Plan Lee Highway – a broad effort to review development patterns along US-29, and to plan for development in this corridor across the next 30 years. This spring, Arlington County introduced alternative planning concepts for the corridor, and is gathering feedback to refine the concepts before bringing them forward for action. On Wednesday, July 21 from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Natasha Alfonso-Ahmed and Leon Vignes of the Arlington County Planning Division will join the Chamber’s Government Affairs and Economic Development Committee to discuss the concepts prepared and feedback already received, and to hear members’ questions and feedback.

Also, we invite you to register for the Virginia Chamber’s Blueprint Virginia 2030 Regional Tour virtual meeting for Northern Virginia – which will also be on Wednesday, July 21 from 12:00-1:20 p.m. Blueprint Virginia 2030 is the Virginia Chamber’s long-term statewide economic development plan that would transcend gubernatorial terms and reflect the consensus of Virginia’s business community. Participants will have the opportunity to hear directly from Virginia Chamber President & CEO Barry DuVal for an economic update and overview of the Blueprint Virginia 2030 process, and from representatives of GO Virginia and VEDA for a regional presentation. This regional meeting builds on Barry DuVal’s presentation to our Government Affairs & Economic Development Committee in April.

The Virginia Chamber Foundation is holding a Blueprint Virginia 2030 Regional Tour.

Those who register will be invited to participate in the Blueprint Virginia 2030 Regional Tour survey. As part of the Blueprint Virginia 2030 development process, the Virginia Chamber Foundation has announced it will host a series of virtual meetings throughout Virginia, in partnership with its network of local, regional, and other chambers of commerce; and GO Virginia and VEDA. These meetings will serve to foster greater regional collaboration by bringing together leaders in business, economic development, workforce, education, housing, and other community representatives from across the Commonwealth to provide input for Virginia’s next statewide strategic plan.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear directly from Barry DuVal for an economic update and overview of the Blueprint Virginia 2030 process. Participants will also hear from representatives of GO Virginia and VEDA for a regional presentation. The initial results for the Regional Tour survey will be reviewed during each meeting. Most importantly, participants will have the opportunity to participate in an open dialogue to discuss policy recommendations for the final plan.
