We are excited to announce that JBLF will be hosting a virtual scavenger hunt starting this September through the new year. We will release new clues every Saturday morning and each hunt will run through Monday evening - perfect for the asynchronous learning day. This series of networking events is open to all women to expand your network, share knowledge, exchange ideas, and offer advice. The events focus on networking to grow your business opportunities and support others who know what it’s like to be a woman in business. Attendees will vote on discussion topics in a "Choose Your Own Adventure" style to discuss amongst the group. Attendees will be registered to win a $50 restaurant gift card to local women-owned restaurant compliments of Arlington Community Federal Credit Union. Winner will be chosen at end of event. Come observe our meeting and discover the benefits of Toastmasters! Our Virtual Open House will follow a traditional meeting structure, and there will be time for guests to ask questions. We would love to see you there! About our club: First Edition Toastmasters was established in 1988 in Rosslyn, VA by a group of journalists, and our club has received President's Distinguished Club status for the last nine years. Our club is a mix of long-standing and recently-joined members, and we come from a variety of careers. There is a positive social chemistry in First Edition, supporting personal growth through efforts at improved speaking. First Edition meets every Friday at noon and every second Tuesday of the month at 7pm. It is extremely hard to find a Toastmasters club that has more meetings a month than we do; meeting attendance is never required, however, members find that frequent attendance helps facilitate speaking progress. The Chamber's free monthly Small Business Roundtable is an important educational and networking opportunity for small businesses. The forum is applicable to a variety of businesses and employee levels, from front-line customer service to owners.

THIS MONTH'S TOPIC: “Building an Intentional Business“ presented by Todd Ihrig, Financial Advisor, Avantax Investment Services

One of the most valuable questions people should ask each other at a business networking event is “Who is an ideal client for you?” Knowing how to answer this question means taking a deep dive into your business, analyzing not just the raw numbers (quantitative data) but also digging into the “soft” side (qualitative data) of your client relationships. Using techniques of client segmentation allows you to be intentional about defining your ideal client, focusing your networking and marketing efforts and designing service levels that are aligned with your effort and compensation.

Todd Ihrig, is one of the top 100 financial advisors out of over 4,500 within Avantax Investment Services. After adopting formal client segmentation techniques, he accelerated the growth of his practice. Having a clear definition of his ideal client, staying laser focused on attracting those clients and avoiding “lottery tickets” and “shiny objects”, his practice grew 3 times faster while reducing his overall workload.
