Arlington County is kicking off a “Missing Middle Housing Study” to examine how new housing types and forms could be introduced in Arlington that increase and diversify the County’s housing supply. On Wednesday, April 1, from 9:00-10:30 a.m., County Board member Matt de Ferranti will join the Government Affairs & Economic Development Committee to preview these efforts, and listen to questions and suggestions from Chamber members.

"Causes and Cocktails", a quarterly evening event hosted by Volunteer Arlington's Young Professional Advisory Council, connects young professionals to one another and causes they can impact through service with Arlington based-nonprofits.

Cocktails: at The Westin's Commentary, 801 N. Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22203. The hotel is located near the Ballston Metro Station (orange and silver line.) There will be free valet parking for event participants.

Arlington County has two “form-based codes” which guide and govern development along Columbia Pike. Arlington County recently proposed changes to one of these codes, and Columbia Pike businesses and property owners are recommending changes to the other. At the Chamber’s Government Affairs & Economic Development Committee meeting on Wednesday, April 15 at 9:00 a.m., Kim Klingler, the Executive Director of the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization (CPRO) will provide an update on the Columbia Pike form based codes, and committee members will discuss ideas for updates.

From George Washington Parkway North: Take George Washington Parkway North to Route 50 West. Travel 0.6 miles and take the exit on the LEFT toward US-50 W/Memorial Bridge/Arlington Cemetery. The Arlington Bunny Hop is a 5K Charity Fun Run/Walk hosted by the Clarendon United Methodist Church. The beneficiaries are Bridges to Independence and O.A.R. (Offender Aid and Restoration). People of all ages and runners and walkers at all levels are encouraged to attend this annual event. Put on your favorite costume while you enjoy a fun, healthy, spring weather activity with your friends and family. A family style block party will be featured after the race with characters, free food, costume contests, bounce houses and live music. Finisher medals will be given to all children crossing the finish line. Medals will be awarded to overall and age group winners and three finishers with the best costumes. The chip-timed 5k course winds through the historic Ashton Heights neighborhood and the Columbia Gardens Cemetery before finishing at the church. Dogs and strollers are welcome. The Arlington Chamber of Commerce is seeking individuals and teams of enthusiastic volunteers to participate in Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day, an annual tradition that engages businesses and individuals in rewarding half-day service projects throughout the community.

Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals and groups of all sizes. Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day produced by the Chamber's Community Action Committee and connects Arlington businesses to Chamber member nonprofits. This is a great opportunity for nonprofits to develop relationships with Arlington businesses.
