The Chamber's free monthly Small Business Roundtable is an important educational and networking opportunity for small businesses. This event provides expert speakers on topics to help you grow your business, such as digital marketing and business development, and also gives you the opportunity to make connections and grow your professional network. The forum is applicable to a variety of businesses and employee levels, from front-line customer service to owners.

This Month's Topic: Workforce Grants & Other Business Support Tools

Description

Join Dave Remick, Executive Director at the Alexandria/Arlington Regional Workforce Council, and Eric Alston, Small Business Relationship Manager at Wacif, for an informative session featuring the Alexandria/Arlington Regional Workforce Council and the Washington Area Community Investment Fund (Wacif), two organizations committed to supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs.

Learn about workforce training grants available through the Alexandria/Arlington Regional Workforce Council, including reimbursable grants of up to $4,500 for small- and mid-sized businesses to help upskill incumbent employees. Businesses may receive reimbursement for 50%–90% of eligible training costs, with funding available through October 1, 2026.

Attendees will also hear from Wacif, which helps entrepreneurs across the Washington, D.C. region access free business resources, including advising, training, networking opportunities, and information about grants, funding programs, and other tools that support small business growth.

Want to tackle climate change in your local community? Local residents looking to make a meaningful difference in our community can now apply for the 2026–2027 cohort of EcoAmbassadors. This climate and energy-centered volunteer training and community engagement program, co-managed by EcoAction Arlington and the Virginia Cooperative Extension, empowers everyday people to lead grassroots environmental efforts. Applications are open online through August 31, 2026.

With the help of our Community Action Committee, this event offers local businesses a unique chance to connect and learn more about nonprofit organizations making an impact in our community.
