Event Description: Ben Shneiderman, computer science professor and founding director of the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory, University of Maryland, College Park, will present “Information Visualization for Knowledge Discovery,” a lecture on visualization as it applies to temporal event sequences such as electronic health records and social network data. Shneiderman will also sign copies of his newest book, Analyzing Social Media Networks with NodeXL, which will be available for purchase. Sponsored by Virginia Tech. Free, but seating is limited.
