Event Description: Northern Virginia AIDS Ministry (NOVAM) will be hosting its annual Red Ribbon Gala on October 6, 2011, at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens near Wolf Trap Farm Park. Please join us in a beautiful setting for a fun evening with our distinguished guests: - Arlington County Board Member Jay Fissette is our 2011 Red Ribbon Honoree for his efforts as a strong community advocate for HIV prevention and care for nearly 25 years - Congressman James Moran is once again or Honorary Chair - Keynote Speaker is Caressa Cameron, Miss America 2010, whose personal platform is the prevention of HIV in young persons - Leon Harris of WJLA-TV will serve as the event's Master of Ceremonies NOVAM is the only provider of comprehensive, science-based HIV/STI prevention education to youth and young adults in Arlington County and the surrounding areas. NOVAM also provides intensive support to local youth who are living with HIV. This work is critically important as youth continue to become infected with HIV at an alarming rate.
