Event Description: Matt Burlin, Environmental Program Coordinator, City of Portland, Oregon, Sustainable Stormwater Division, Environmental Services, will present "Retrofits and Revitalization -- Portland, Oregon's Shift Towards Green Infrastructure for Urban Watershed Protection." The Sustainable Stormwater Division is responsible for operating and maintaining the sewer and stormwater systems to protect Portland watersheds, rivers, and streams. Burlin coordinates outreach and communications between city planning, design, and permitting staff and private sector professionals to address barriers to these emerging technologies. Burlin earned a B.S. in environmental resource management from Virginia Tech in 1995 and a master of urban and regional planning from Portland State University in 2004. This event is cosponsored by the Center for Geospatial Information Technology at Virginia Tech and the Natural Resources Programs, Virginia Tech National Capital Region.
