Event Description: The Smithsonian Science Education Center is hosting a Science Education Leadership and Strategic Planning Institute at the end of July, in which they bring together educators from around the country to spend dedicated time building out a strategic plan to support STEM education in their school or district. Smithsonian has done these workforce site visits in the past which have always been hugely popular for educators interested in learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) related career opportunities available to their students given the appropriate workforce preparation. New District Brewing will be hosting a group of 20 educators Thursday, July 27 from 9:30-11:45 a.m. to see some of the work that takes place at the brewery and talk to staff members about how they came to be here and what sort of educational experiences were most useful in making us job-ready. They will be talking with the founder and key staff members of New District Brewery.
