Event Description: How do you turn wine into a warm coat for a homeless child this winter and have fun? Wine Helps! Drink a Little-Help a Lot, solves the riddle. The Arlington Rotary Club, Arrowine and Cheese and Proof Restaurant are sponsoring a wine and cheese tasting event on Tuesday, September 20, from 6 to 8:30 PM. Twenty wines and an assortment of cheeses are being offered for tasting by Doug Rosen of Arrowine & Cheese. There also will be hot and cold hors d'oeuvres. Can't make the wine tasting event? Buy a raffle ticket. Proof Restaurant is providing a fabulous raffle drawing worth $1,700 for a chef’s tasting dinner for 8 with wine pairings at Proof Restaurant near the Verizon Center. You don't have to be present to win the raffle. Proceeds from the event will go to Homestretch, a local program that empowers homeless families to rebuild their lives. Arlington Rotary Club is committed to buying warm coats for Homestretch children. Wine tasting funds will supplement a grant from Rotary International. Tickets for Wine Helps! are $75 per person and can be obtained from any member of the club or online at Eventbrite by typing in the search box: Wine Helps!. Tickets for the raffle drawing are $10 each. Portions of the ticket sales are tax deductible.

Wine Helps! is conveniently located just off of I-66 in Arlington's Ballston district at 4301 Wilson Blvd., in the Ballston Conference Center, main floor of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Assn. building. Parking is free under the building off of N. Taylor Street. The Ballston Metro is just steps away.
