Event Description: After their successful collaboration in 2014 for the INTERSECTIONS and Capital Fringe Festivals, Arlington mainstay Jane Franklin Dance and Helen Hayes Award-winning composer and musician Tom Teasley reunite to present “Dada Re-Discovered”, a multi-media performance featuring live original music, video art and dance on January 17, 2014 @ 7:30 pm at Theatre on the Run in Arlington, VA. Inspired by Dadaist era artwork, a series of duets and solos by Jane Franklin Dance will be danced in front of original video art by Teasley and Franklin while Teasley accompanies the dancers live with percussive instruments including the aquasonic and djembe drum. Using unique time signatures, geometric patterns, abstract images and projected laser inspired by the northern lights, the performance will explore light, the limits of time and human relationship.
