Event Description: THE GOAL The Diaspora Tour seeks to harness the power of these diaspora communities by: • Building awareness around the IDEA partnership; • Encouraging creative partnerships between diaspora communities and local governments and the private sector; • Demonstrating USG policy commitment to engage with diaspora communities; • Opening dialogue with previously unengaged demographics and diaspora communities; • Providing inspiration for activities during the Global Diaspora Week. THE HOSTS S/GP will lead the Diaspora Tour with partners and work closely with prestigious universities, NGOs and community organizations to host dynamic events. Each diaspora tour event is unique, and most will feature keynote addresses, a panel discussion with leading diaspora experts and networking time for participants. Attendees may include NGOs, students, university officials with an affinity for international development, private sector partners, diaspora leaders and local government officials.
