BMD offers a first look at selections from the collaborative project, Victory Road, inspired by the music of country-rock legends Jason and The Scorchers, credited for “rewriting the history of rock’n’roll in the South” (Rolling Stone). Any fan of this cowpunk band knows it’s nearly impossible not to dance to the rhythms of Appalachian folk, gospel, country, and rock music. Now, famed choreographer Lucy Bowen McCauley takes on this daring new project to transform the life and music of the band’s founder Jason Ringenberg into an artistic journey of hope, tragedy, and triumph. Join the experience as BMD intersects high art with this classic American musical genre. On Saturday following the performance, cut-loose with the cast the BMD Bash at Synetic and enjoy cocktails and tasty treats.
