Event Description: Leadership Arlington offers the community six Speaker Series sessions each year focusing on issues and topics facing the Arlington community and surrounding area. The fall and spring series consist of two seminars and one skills workshop. The topics are chosen to help prepare, educate and inspire the community, as well as to generate a community wide dialogue between professionals in each of the three sectors. This session focuses on a new phenomenon - multiple generations populating the workforce and the challenges and opportunities this reality has to offer. For the first time in American history, four generations are sharing the workplace: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generations Xers and Millenials. The spread of generations in the workforce presents a unique challenge as team members represent different ideas, behaviors, attitudes, expectations and motivators. This Speaker Series will focus on working with today's "four generation workforce" as interaction and engagement now require new approaches for combined generations within organizations. Focus Areas - Best practices for understanding and appreciating your own generational influence as well as that of others - Approaches for working with combined generations within an organization - Tips to cohesively work together through generational boundaries Is This Speaker Series for You?
