Event Description: NOVAM is pleased to announce a very special evening of theatre with the Tony Award Winning production of The Normal Heart at the Arena Stage and a private reception at one Arena's signature spaces. Please join us for this special performance on Thursday, July 12. NOVAM is the only Northern Virginia Agency having an event for The Normal Heart at Arena Stage. This will be a high-profile event surrounding NOVAM's 25th anniversary year with a special limited engagement for the XIX International AIDS Conference (AIDS2012) hosted this year by Washington, DC in July. The Normal Heart is a must-see play about activism, family, awareness, and a mysterious disease that was claiming human lives in 1980’s New York City. Written by Larry Kramer, this production of the ground-breaking play has won Tony Awards for Best Revival, Best Featured Actor and Best Featured Actress. All proceeds will benefit NOVAM and its work in the community. NOVAM, based in Falls Church, VA, is an independent, community-based non-profit organization that provides a variety of HIV prevention education programs and support services throughout Northern Virginia.
