Topic: Encouraging & Growing Young Leaders: It's Good Business

Are you encouraging young people at your nonprofit or business to grow and develop themselves professionally? Often young people are engaged only for a short time at organizations in entry-level positions. Come join in a conversation with two great guest speakers Maya Enista-Smith of Mobilize.org and Peter Smith of Impingere on the value that comes from developing younger members of your team.

The cost is $20 for members, $30 for nonmembers

Free parking and lunch is included in the regsitration cost.

MEET THE SPEAKERS
Maya Enista-Smith is the CEO of Mobilize.Org, whose mission is to improve democracy by investing in Millennial-driven solutions. Maya and Mobilize.org believe that in order to create long-term, sustainable and community based solutions to challenges facing our generation, Millennials (young adults born between the years 1976 and 1996) must authentically engage their peers in identifying problems, proposing solutions, and most importantly, must work together to implement these solutions on their campuses and in their communities. For her leadership, Maya has been awarded a YouthActionNet Fellowship, the Independent Sector NGEN American Express Fellowship, Utne Reader's 50 Visionaries Changing Your World Award, WIN's Young Women of Achievement Award and Gelman, Rosenberg + Freedman 20011 EXCEL Award for Excellence in Non-Profit Management.

Peter Smith is a leadership development coach, trainer and speaker who focuses on achieving positive results. He is the President of Impingere, a performance-based coaching firm in Northern Virginia that provides systematic, customized strategies for individuals and groups. Pete's long-term impact resides in his ability to inspire, motivate and lead individuals and teams to perform at their highest levels. The company took its name from Latin word closely associated with what they refer to as "having an impact."
