The Arlington Chamber of Commerce is seeking individuals and teams of enthusiastic volunteers to participate in Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day, an annual tradition that engages businesses and individuals in rewarding half-day service projects throughout the community. Produced by the Chamber's Community Action Committee, Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day connects Arlington businesses to Chamber member nonprofits. Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals and groups of all sizes!

To register for a volunteer site, review the available projects below, then click the blue "register" button in the top right corner of this webpage. From there, please select the site of your choice. All projects are from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Registration is currently for members of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce only.

Volunteer Projects
Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC) 8 Volunteers Max | Hunter's Park, 2021 N. Nelson St. Arlington, VA 22207
Volunteers will serve lunch, play bingo, and visit with residents, enjoying food, conversation and laughter together.
Animal Welfare League of Arlington SOLD OUT | 2650 S Arlington Mill Drive, Arlington, VA 22206
Volunteers will make DIY PVC pipe dog and cat beds. Volunteers will need basic handiness skills as the project includes measuring and cutting PVC pipe in addition to using a drill. A video tutorial of the project can be found here.
Arlington Bridge Builders 12 Volunteers Max | 790 S Carlin Springs Rd, Arlington VA 22041
Volunteers will be repairing a food pantry, including removing and replacing the metal skirt on the trailer, widening the wood ramp leading to the entrance, and cleaning up the area around the trailer.
Arlington Free Clinic 6 Volunteers Max | 2921 11th Street South, Arlington VA 22204
Volunteers will be writing thank you notes, creating thank you posters, and decorating the volunteer check-in station. Spanish speakers encouraged for thank you notes being sent to interpreters.
Arlington Neighborhood Village 5 Volunteers Needed | 10 Volunteers Max | 4000 Lorcom Lane, Arlington, VA 22207
Volunteers will help seniors declutter by picking up unneeded and unwanted items from their homes and taking the items to Goodwill and Central Library. Given the advanced planning of this project, ANV will greatly appreciate volunteers who feel confident about their ability to commit to this day, as well as volunteers who can share their truck or large vehicle.

Volunteers will help put together Wee Thrive Baby Boxes to support new and expecting families in Arlington. Wee Thrive Baby Boxes provide much-needed support to families facing financial challenges, ensuring they have the essentials to give their little ones a strong start. Your time and effort will make a direct impact on the health and well-being of families in our community.

Volunteers will help write thank you letters to ensure that Aspires' supporters receive a personal thank you and recognition. Additionally, volunteers will be setting up beds for the community garden.

Volunteers wil organize the food pantry at the Sullivan House Shelter.

Volunteers will work on planting, gardening, and ground clean up.

Volunteers will help with yard work and cleaning out the shed.

Voluntters will be removing invasive plants, such as English Ivy, from Fort Scott Park, in partnership with a Park Steward. All supplies, such as organic bags, gloves, and tools will be provided. Wearing sturdy shoes and comfortable clothing is recomended. Bring your own reusable water bottle and snacks. Please avoide bringing single use plastics to this event.
Melwood 10 Volunteers Max | 750 23rd Street South, Arlington
Volunteers will clean and prepare a large vegetable plot, then plant a variety of fresh vegetables. Volunteers will also assist with cleaning a smaller plot of land and planting seasonal flowers to beautify the area.
Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington 10 Volunteers Max | 3500 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201
Volunteers will help organize the art-making classrooms, ensuring the spaces remain welcoming and functional for creativity. Tasks will include sorting and organizing art supplies, cleaning rooms and storage areas, and making sure the space is in good condition.
New Hope Housing 10 Volunteers Max | 1554 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA 22204
Volunteers will give New Hope Housing's shelter a vibrant new look for spring by cleaning and organizing the shelter.
PathForward 5 Volunteers Max | Silbert House, 1124 N Kennebec St, Arlington, VA 22205
Volunteers will be applying weather proofing stain to the outdoor wooden trellis of the apartment building's back patio. Volunteers will need to be able to use ladders and not be allergic to exterior wood stain.
