Please join the 47th EcoAction Arlington Annual Meeting which will focus on activities to make our lives more sustainable and how we can amplify our collective actions to make a difference for our community. Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in breakout sessions to explore ideas around the themes of tree canopy, composting, reducing plastic pollution, and electric vehicles.

We are excited to announce our featured speaker for the evening will be Rev. Dr. DeLishia Davis, President of NAACP Arlington Branch.

Featured Speaker

Our featured speaker is Reverend Dr. Delishia Andrea Davis of Calloway United Methodist Church. Reverend Dr. Davis currently serves as the President of the NAACP Arlington Branch.

Reception

The meeting will start with a reception consisting of light refreshments from 6:30 to 7 p.m. featuring exhibits by local organizations (See list below).

Kids CARE Club (Creating a Responsible Environment) is a program series for animal lovers ages 4-10 and their families to learn how to keep pets and wildlife safe through hands-on activities and crafts. Arlington Tower has its own five-deck garage with entrances on 17th St. N. and Fort Myer Dr.. To access the Fort Myer Dr. entrance, stay to the right side of Fort Myer Dr.. Do not go under the overpass on the left side of the road, as GPS systems often direct drivers to do. The day rate for parking is $16. There are a few street parking options on N St by 1400 Wilson Blvd, a few on Clarendon Blvd and a few along 17th St N. Other nearby parking lots can be found here. The venue is also a short walk from the Rosslyn Metro Station (blue, orange, and silver lines).

Workshop: Intro to Oils (Ages 18+) - 1 Session 3/22/2025 1:00 PM - 3/22/2025 4:00 PM

Students will gain an introduction to oil paints in this one-session workshop with local artist, Jonathan Ege. Students will learn about paint mediums, setting up a palette, basic color mixing, and composition with a focus on oils. Students will first complete a series of color-mixing exercises to learn about value, temperature, and intensity. After this, students will have the opportunity to work from a still life to learn how to complete an oil painting from start to finish. Students will leave with an oil painting kit to take home and the skills and resources to continue oil painting! No prior painting or oil paint experience necessary.

This class is a workshop and will meet one time.

Supplies are included in the cost of this class. Students will leave the class with an oil painting kit.

Both exhibitions takes place as part of MoCA Arlington’s SOLOS 2025, part of the Museum’s long-running SOLOS exhibition program. Launched in 1988, SOLOS features solo exhibitions by artists based in the Mid-Atlantic region who are working at the forefront of contemporary art.
