Event Description:
The Chamber will host a forum to help nonprofits understand what donors and funders want from charitable organizations and teach them how to better engage key audiences through fundraising practices.
The forum is led by Lindsay J.K. Nichols from Guidestar. Lindsay’s presentation will give advice about the fallacies of the “overhead ratio,” clarify the role of charity watchdog organizations, and provide actionable tips for understanding and evaluating nonprofit effectiveness, such as:
•Collecting the right information
•Communicating that information to meaningfully impact donors
•Connecting with donors to form lasting relationships
Additionally, Lindsay will share Guidestar’s ground-breaking
Money for Good II
research—which proves that, although few donors research the organizations they give to, almost all donors want better information.
Lunch will be provided.
